Got the detailing in the hilt area done. Just a couple minor adjustments and this thing is ready to be textured!

I remember doing having to model a real person for a class in college and I thought it would be fun to give it another shot and see how I've improved since then. Modeling a different person, but still should be able to see my improvements. Need to round out the top front of the skull more and shape the cheeks better. Nose is still a tad too wide as well.

I'm having so much fun texturing now! Here's a low poly mushroom; wanted to do a mushroom for a while now. Did the texture in Photoshop using a few different methods. Added some filters to the stem to make it appear natural instead of just one continuous color. Also added a filter to the red and put all the white spots on individually. Took forever!

I absolutely love this little guy! So much fun to do! He's based on concept by larolaro, but I played with the color combinations to make him bright. I'm thinking of doing a couple more of his fish concepts; wanted to show more low poly stuff again. I'll also work on making a better render of him with the others as well.

I'm happy with my candy corn monster! He's been super fun to model and currently working on concepts for new creatures. Been slacking on my monster making, which is a shame, because it's my biggest love! Posting a close up of his face to show the pore texture I put on him.
As for the gun; this is what I'm currently working on while I sketch out my next big monster project. Wanted to practice making my hard surface skills better. Some pieces are still being detailed, shaped, and connected.

Uploading some progress of this little guy. Have his face masked out in order to put pores into his skin. Wanted pores in his facial region only, but ultimately decided he looked better with the pore texture covering his body. All I have left to do is fix his "color lines" that define him as a candy corn and then I can continue on to color, render, and finish him!

Top jaw is blocked out, so now on to the bottom jaw. After the two are finished I'll go in and polish them. Going to experiment with adding a tongue tonight. It won't be sticking out, but I think he should at least have one inside his mouth so he doesn't look weird. I'm happy with how he's turning out!

Added his eyes and started sculpting his teeth. This is my first time tackling teeth and gums, so we'll see how it goes. It looks alright so far, just need to polish them after they're all put in. Made a ZSphere and am masking the teeth out and giving them volume with the inflate brush and then taking the flatten brush and taming them. He is so fun!

Leave it to October and Halloween to get me out of my monster funk! I've been in a little art block concerning making monsters and what a terrible thing to be in for someone who loves them so much! I thought this little guy up, sketched him out, and decided he would make a very good 3D model. Having so much fun modeling him!

I finally figured it out! To the point where I developed a system I go by now. I can now move on to more complicated objects. These are so bright and fun! I'm also really enjoying the low poly trend I have going on at the moment. Might just throw these into the portfolio for low poly examples.

Determined to teach myself how to texture! I decided it was best to learn how to texture simple objects and then work my way up in terms of complexity. I'm very pleased with the noodle models themselves, however, I am not completely happy with the texture. I made a custom pattern in Photoshop from an actual pool noodle and this is what came of it. I'm happy with the pattern/texture itself, but I want it to appear smaller on my model, so it doesn't look like a giant porous sponge. I want the actual foam to look smaller and more compact if that makes sense. Off to go look for more tutorials on how to do so!

So I'm teaching myself how to texture. This was done using just a simple planar map technique without unfolding the actual geometry. I did this not only because it was supposed to be a simple texture, but also to take small steps in this process. I do plan on re-mapping this as well as adding a little more detail so it doesn't look as flat. I'm getting this texturing thing down!

Here are some new things from me! Been wanting to upload these for a bit now to show everyone. First is a couple of low poly cacti that I'm going to texture hopefully tonight (along with my low poly game character for the creative challenge.) Second, some ammo of different variations I modeled with NURBS and then converted to polygons. Both of these I plan on offering for sale online.
